Trudel invites established and non-established restaurateurs to join us at our new Espace bouffe urbain.
June 10 saw the launch of the Pitch ton resto invitation at the new Espace bouffe urbain. This vast 60,000 sq. ft., 1,000-seat space can accommodate some 15 concessions, including three with table service and ephemeral concepts.
Trudel wants to reach out to the restaurant industry in the Greater Quebec City area, and around the world!
The Espace bouffe urbain will be linked to the shopping center, outdoor public spaces and residential buildings, including Vingt-et-un Mars, the first residential phase which is already partly inhabited. It will therefore be part of this desire to weave a dynamic and welcoming urban fabric. “There will be something for everyone, at every price point,” says William Trudel.
The president and founder of Trudel Corporation even says he can offer different types of support to young entrepreneurs to get their project off the ground at Fleur de Lys.
“If you’re passionate about the restaurant business and dream of having a restaurant with a new or established concept, Trudel is ready to do business with you. Any company can help the project,” he said at the presentation.
Trudel plans to open the Espace bouffe urbain by 2026.
Trudel is proud to announce the start of construction and celebrates with the community.
On Saturday, June 7, during a major community celebration, every citizen and guest marked the occasion with a symbolic groundbreaking.
With the Fleur de Lys project progressing steadily, this second large-scale Trudel initiative—valued at an estimated $1 billion—is scheduled for completion by 2033. The Galeries Charlesbourg project is a much-anticipated response to the ongoing housing crisis in the Québec City region.
The revitalization of Galeries Charlesbourg will offer future residents and customers unparalleled access to public transit, VivaCité corridors, and major roadways.
William Trudel was on site and stated: “Just like we did for Fleur de Lys, this project was developed in close collaboration with over 3,100 people. We are incredibly proud of this valuable collaboration! That’s why we’re organizing a public celebration to mark the start of construction.”

Determination. Audacity. Hard work. When you believe, anything is possible—especially with the support of the people of Quebec City.
After listening, imagining, and designing, Trudel has begun delivering its first residential phase of 480 rental condos. At a major celebration attended by nearly 400 tenants and guests, William Trudel unveiled images of the shopping mall, the urban food court, and other building highlights. He also handed out golden keys to the first ten tenants to thank them for their trust. He also presented the car-sharing options residents will enjoy.
The $2 billion redevelopment of Place Fleur de Lys includes 4,500 rental units to be built over 5 to 10 years. The second phase is already one year ahead of schedule.
As William Trudel said during the inauguration, “We have been preparing for this day for four years. We are really happy. It is a success. The tenants are happy. Mission accomplished!”

Trudel Innovation Inc. has partnered with CHU de Québec–Université Laval in a $109 million, 12-year agreement to create an outpatient hemodialysis centre at Fleur de Lys. This turnkey partnership will provide 64 new hemodialysis chairs in a community setting, with Trudel managing logistics and maintenance, and CHU de Québec handling medical care.
This project perfectly aligns with Trudel’s vision of transforming Fleur de Lys into a fully integrated community where people can live, work, and obtain services. Clients and staff of the dialysis centre will enjoy commercial amenities and green spaces, and may even live on-site!
Redevelopment of Îlot Dorchester is finally set to begin this summer, starting with a 17-storey building. The latest version of the project was approved by Mayor Marchand, who praised Trudel’s responsiveness to citizen input. William Trudel noted that the process pushed the company “to be better” and to align more closely with area expectations.
The site will include 400 housing units (including affordable and subsidized housing), approximately 150 hotel rooms, a small grocery store, green spaces, and a public square.
The final plan approved by the City is international calibre and will usher Saint-Roch into a new era of urban modernity.
The former Sears garage at Place Fleur de Lys will host La Bouchée Généreuse for three years while its Wilfrid-Hamel Blvd. location is expanded. William Trudel, CEO of Trudel Corporation, confirmed that 175 volunteers—including many Trudel employees, local firefighters, police officers, and police academy students—worked tirelessly with the food bank staff to make it happen. That day, over 1,000 food baskets were distributed to people in need.
Trudel Group, a key partner in the relocation project for La Bouchée Généreuse to the former Sears garage at Place Fleur de Lys, took part in the inauguration ceremony. During the event, players from the Los Angeles Kings came to lend a hand to the volunteers. Thanks to their support, the organization was able to distribute over 1,000 food baskets to people in need.
William Trudel, founder and CEO of Trudel, along with Pierre Gravel, general director of La Bouchée généreuse, and Marie-Pier Gravel, deputy director of the organization, announced on August 20, 2024, the temporary relocation of La Bouchée généreuse to the former Sears garage at Fleur de Lys, just a few steps from its current location.
This temporary relocation will last for 36 months, which is the time required for the demolition and construction of a new building on the organization’s current site.
This project was made possible thanks to a financial contribution of $236,000 from the Government of Quebec and the City of Quebec to cover the costs of relocation and the reorganization of temporary facilities for La Bouchée généreuse. Additionally, Trudel has committed to not only making the former Sears garage available to the organization at a below-market rent but also to carrying out the renovation work at cost, without any profit. This also represents a revenue forgone by the company, amounting to just over $1.3 million.
As for the construction of its future facilities, Trudel has also committed to doing so at cost. A fundraising campaign will be launched very soon to raise the necessary funds for this purpose.
La Bouchée généreuse, which distributes more than 1,000 food baskets per week, plans to welcome families in need to its temporary facilities starting in October. These new spaces will be much more functional and efficient for serving families, which will help reduce, or even completely eliminate, the outdoor waiting lines.
On May 14, the City held a public consultation for the redevelopment of Galeries Charlesbourg, a project Trudel has been working on tirelessly for the past 5 years, in collaboration with Groupe A / Annexe U.
A project of such scale cannot be achieved without the invaluable collaboration of the public. In fact, over 3,000 people and nearly 50 partners were consulted in 2021 to gather the best ideas before even making the first pencil stroke on the plans.
Since the spring of 2023, we have met with our neighbors, merchants, and community partners to present the project, listen to their feedback, and make the necessary adjustments.
At Trudel, we create human-scale projects that respond to the real needs of people, with respect for the surrounding community.

As one of the largest real estate developers in the country, William Trudel shares his perspective on the housing crisis and the various proposals put forward by political and economic actors. For him, there is only one solution. The real lever to resolve the crisis and promote the creation of housing must be activated. To achieve this, financing conditions must return to pre-pandemic levels, and everyone must act on what they control.
As he aptly puts it, it’s always better to keep things simple. Keep it Simple Stupid.
