La Bouchée généreuse

Premises that were too small. Lineups outside in all weather. A demolition and rebuild in sight. Trudel listened carefully to the urgent needs of La Bouchée généreuse and welcomed the organization and its volunteers into the former Sears garage at Place Fleur de Lys, just steps from its original site. These new, more functional facilities make it easier to distribute over 1,300 food baskets per week to people in need. This new home for the next 36 months was inaugurated in the presence of many dignitaries and players from the Los Angeles Kings.

QUÉBEC VILLE EN ROSE

Since 2019, William Trudel has served as honorary chair and light-bearer of the Québec Ville en Rose fundraising initiative of the CHU de Québec Foundation. In addition to inviting people to “click on his face” each year to make a donation, William Trudel faced off against his great friend PA Méthot in a friendly cocktail battle during the 2023 fundraising event. Trudel’s contribution to this campaign will go towards state-of-the-art equipment for the Breast Disease Centre (CMS) at CHU de Québec–Université Laval.

FONDATION SIGNES D’ESPOIR

Trudel has been involved for many years with Signes d’Espoir, a community organization supporting people with hearing impairments, with or without associated disabilities, in the Quebec City region. For example, Trudel Construction developed new premises for Atelier Signes d’Espoir’s office and woodworking shop. In addition, the team took part in the organization’s “Greening and Green Infrastructure” project as general contractor. Under the honorary chairmanship of Jonathan Trudel, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of Trudel Corporation, the May 2022 Lobster Supper raised a record $112,000. The funds went to expanding the Atelier, acquiring new equipment for residences, and improving common areas.

CITÉ JOIE

Social engagement is part of Trudel’s DNA. That is why its president and founder, William Trudel, happily accepted the role of honorary co-chair for the “Les Homardises” event benefiting the Cité Joie Foundation. He shared this role with Claude Savard, Vice President, Commercial Financial Services at RBC Royal Bank.

Each year, more than 400 people gather to support this organization, which offers stimulating, adapted vacation experiences for children and adults living with disabilities.

ÉCOLE DES URSULINES DE QUÉBEC

In fall 2021, this historic institution—founded in 1639—launched the largest fundraising campaign in its history, with a goal of $3.5 million. “It is very important that Old Quebec, our national heritage, remains healthy. And for heritage and a neighbourhood to thrive, it starts with the elementary school.” That is the core message of William Trudel, co-chair of the campaign, whose main goal is to modernize classrooms and furniture to help teachers try new approaches and help students collaborate more effectively. It is a big challenge, but William Trudel’s commitment is just as equal to it.

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM AT ÉCOLE NOTRE-DAME-DU-CANADA

In May 2022, the entire Trudel team was saddened by the tragic passing of Catherine Bilodeau, a devoted teacher from the Vanier area, at just 34 years old. Our unwavering commitment to communities drove us to support École Notre-Dame-du-Canada’s initiative to create an outdoor classroom in her memory.

THÉÂTRE JEUNESSE LES GROS BECS

In 2021, this beloved youth theatre suddenly found itself without a lease for its upcoming season. Trudel jumped right in and launched a rescue operation, welcoming the organization into a specially adapted space at Fleur de Lys and becoming a seasonal partner. This goes to show our strong belief in integrating cultural activities into everyday community spaces.

Community

At Trudel, we engage with communities even before designing and selling our projects. This allows for real communication and interaction. It is what sets us apart in the Quebec and Canadian real estate markets. It is what positions us as a leader in forward-thinking, socially accepted developments.

The redevelopment of Fleur de Lys began with the innovative “Reinventing Fleur de Lys” initiative—a collaborative dialogue launched before and during the project’s design phase. This process gathered the opinions of 2,500 individuals and 60 local merchants.

Our consultation efforts for “Reinventing Place des Quatre-Bourgeois” and “Reinventing Galeries Charlesbourg” were also successful, with over 6,000 participants combined.
